Next Step to Consider...
First, we need to explain that dyslexia can only officially be diagnosed by a specialist. Therefore, an online test can only tell you that a person "may" have dyslexia. Essentially, screeners work by testing whether a person is "low" in decoding skills. Because dyslexia issues appear as the brain tries to convert symbols in print or on the screen into words, they can be measured by a clear difficulty in decoding. While we at Let's Go Learn have a dyslexia screener, parents and tutors like yourself should not settle for a screener. Schools use screeners because they need a way to test hundreds or thousands of kids in 10 to 15 minutes. As a parent or person who is working with one learner, you should take the time to do a full diagnosis, which can take between 30 and 60 minutes. You want to do a full reading diagnosis assessment with our assessment called DORA, Diagnostic Online Reading Assessment. Read more about it on our DORA product page or watch the video to the right.

In this report, you can see that our assessment examines seven areas of reading. These subskills work together to ultimately allow for "comprehension," which is the final goal of reading. If students are low in certain areas, this report will allow you to figure out why they may be struggling.
Diagnostic Online Reading Assessment (DORA): Adapts to students in real-time as they are assessed. Adapts within the instructional range of K to 12 across 7 sub-tests in reading.
